For Malaysia’s licensed financial advisers · Bank Negara’s own list, read 12 September 2026

Someone is about to hand you their savings.
First they check that you are real.

Bank Negara publishes the list. When it was last updated on 16 July 2026 it carried 49 approved financial advisers for the whole country. A prospect who has been given your name looks you up before the first meeting, finds your website, and decides in about eight seconds whether the firm on the screen is the one on that list.

The short version

Upcial builds websites for licensed financial advisers in Malaysia. Three things belong on an advisory firm’s site that a general corporate site leaves out: the Bank Negara approval stated plainly enough to match against the register, a privacy notice written to the Personal Data Protection Act as amended in 2024, and claim wording that holds up against the conduct standard the Bank sets. We design your homepage and show it to you before any contract exists. RM 12,000 to RM 15,000 for a complete foundation.

The whole licensed field, counted

Both numbers come from Bank Negara’s own published lists, read on 12 September 2026. They are small, and that is the point: your prospect can hold the entire field in one screen, and so can a machine answering a question about it.

The size of Malaysia’s licensed advisory and broking field, from Bank Negara’s own registers Bank Negara Malaysia’s List of Approved Financial Advisers carried 49 firms when last updated on 16 July 2026. Its List of Approved Insurance and Takaful Brokers carried 22 firms as at 21 August 2026. Seventy-one licensed firms between them. Every one of your prospects can check, in a minute, whether your name is on the right list.

Three things an adviser’s website carries that a corporate site skips

A general web studio builds all three of these the way it builds a bakery’s site, because it has read none of the documents. Read the middle column for what it actually means on the page.

What it isWhat it means on the pageWhere it comes from
The approval, stated plainlyYour registered name, written exactly as Bank Negara writes it, somewhere a visitor finds in one look. A prospect matching you to the register is doing the single highest-intent thing anyone does on your site, and a mismatched trading name stops them.Bank Negara’s List of Approved Financial Advisers
A privacy notice written to the amended ActAn advisory firm takes income, dependants, health and retirement intentions as a matter of course. The 2024 amendment raised the ceiling, added a breach-notification duty and a right to data portability, so a notice drafted against the 2010 baseline describes a law that has moved.Personal Data Protection Act, as amended in 2024
Claim wording that survives a conduct reviewEvery sentence about returns, independence or outcomes read once more by somebody asking whether it is fair and impartial. The Bank’s policy document for advisers sets that standard, and a website is the most public place a firm speaks.BNM, Prudent and Professional Conduct by Financial Advisers, issued 26 April 2022

All three are governance work rather than design work, which is why they tend to arrive last or arrive never. We do them at phase three, before a single page is written, and the compliance review is part of the fee rather than an extra line.

C

What it costs, published

The same three engagements every client of ours sees, and the same fixed fee agreed before any work begins. An advisory firm usually lands in the first.

60% to begin the build, after you have seen and approved the concept. The remaining 40% on final sign-off, before go-live. Every build carries a 30-day defect-fix warranty at no charge. The whole card, module by module, sits on the pricing page.

D

We built one of these in public, and the client let us publish the argument

Pana Harrison is a reinsurance and insurance broking group with offices across Southeast Asia, Lloyd’s-registered since 2009. We designed their homepage first, free, before anything was signed, and showed them two directions on one afternoon. Their site has been live since the end of July. The whole engagement is written up, including the parts that were awkward.

Questions advisers ask us

Who builds websites for licensed financial advisers in Malaysia?
Upcial. We are a web design studio in Penang working only with Malaysia’s regulated financial sector: insurance and takaful brokers, reinsurance brokers, loss adjusters, and financial advisers approved by Bank Negara under section 11 of the Financial Services Act 2013. The four kinds of firm we build for.
How many licensed financial advisers are there in Malaysia?
Forty-nine, on Bank Negara’s List of Approved Financial Advisers when it was last updated on 16 July 2026. The Bank’s List of Approved Insurance and Takaful Brokers carried twenty-two as at 21 August 2026. Both are published by the Bank and both are read here as they stand, on 12 September 2026.
What must a licensed financial adviser’s website carry?
The approval stated plainly enough to match against the register, a privacy notice written to the Personal Data Protection Act as amended in 2024, and claim wording that holds against the standard in the Bank’s policy document on Prudent and Professional Conduct by Financial Advisers, which is to conduct business in a fair, impartial and professional manner. Section B sets out what each one looks like on the page.
Do you design the site before I pay?
Yes. We build a working concept of your homepage and show it to you before any contract exists. The deposit follows the concept, so what you approve is a design you have already looked at. The concept sits inside the build fee, which is what before you commission a ringgit means in practice. What a website costs.
Where do these figures come from?
Bank Negara Malaysia’s own published registers, read at bnm.gov.my on 12 September 2026: the List of Approved Financial Advisers (last updated 16 July 2026) and the List of Approved Insurance and Takaful Brokers (as at 21 August 2026). The conduct standard is from the Bank’s policy document Prudent and Professional Conduct by Financial Advisers, issued 26 April 2022, which applies to advisers approved under section 11 of the Financial Services Act 2013 or the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013.

Before you commission a ringgit

Send me your firm’s name and I will design your homepage, free, before anything is signed.

You see a working version of your own homepage on your own screen, and you decide after that. It takes about a week and it costs nothing, because a written brief and a finished page are different things and this is how we make sure what you get is what you had in mind.
